How Aussie are you, maaate?

I found this over at Good Golly Miss Holly's blog, and I believe this came from Reading Upside Down :-) Give it a go!

How many of these things have you done?

  • Heard a kookaburra in person.  (All the time!)
  • Slept under the stars.(Thank you, school camp!)
  • Seen a koala. (I've even seen a wild one in my PADDOCKS! Recently in fact and I have the pics to prove it! I think this is totally unheard of, it was amazing! Although my horse wasn't fond of our guest!)
  • Visited Melbourne. (For a horse exhibition :-))
  • Watched a summer thunderstorm. (A million and one of them! They're exciting!)
  • Worn a pair of thongs. Almost every day of my life! I even have worn socks with them - LOL!
  • Been to Uluru (Ayer’s Rock)
  • Visited Cape York.
  • Held a snake. (They're cute but kinda scary. Having an ubundance of them around the house in summer does not help!)
  • Sang along with Khe San. 
  • Drank VB.
  • Visited Sydney. (Yep! Luna Park is AWESOME!)
  • Have seen a shark.
  • Have used Aussie (and NZ) slang naturally in a conversation.
  • Had an actual conversation with an indigenous Australian (Aboriginal).
  • Eaten hot chips from the bag at the beach. (Who hasn't doen this? LOL. I've done this at the snow, too!)
  • Walked/climbed over the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
  • Used an outside dunny, and checked under the seat before sitting down.
  • Seen Chloe in Young & Jackson’s.
  • Slept on an overnight train or bus.
  • Been to Sydney’s Mardi Gras
  • Have gone bush-bashing. (Fun story, actually. I couldn't hill-start a manual at the time. So we kept sliding back when I tried to start it and straight into a fence, LOL).
  • Taken a sickie.
  • Been to see a game of Aussie Rules football.
  • Have seen wild camels.
  • Gone skinny dipping. (When I was about 5, I might add, LOL).
  • Done a Tim Tam Slam.
  • Ridden in a tram in Melbourne.
  • Been at an ANZAC day Dawn Service. 
  • Watched a sunrise or sunset. 
  • Held a wombat. (No, but this would be FUN!)
  • Been on a roadtrip of 800km or more. (Newcastle to Jindabyne for the snow every year :D)
  • Seen the Great Australian Bight in person.
  • Had a really bad sunburn. (Yep and may I just say - OUCH!)
  • Visited an Aboriginal community.
  • Seen a redback spider. (Not a pleasant experience. Especially when said spider has invaded your horse trailer!)
  • Have watched Paul Hogan. (Crocodile Dundee mate! I loved that movie when I was littler!
  • Seen Blue Poles in person. 
  • Eaten Vegemite. (Yep! In fact, if you have it on toast with butter and layer it really lightly, it is really nice!)
  • Thrown a boomerang. (Not that it worked out so well. Perhaps the word is "attempted" to throw a boomerang!)
  • Seen the Kimberleys.
  • Given a hitch-hiker a lift.
  • Been to Perth.
  • Have tried Lemon, Lime and Bitters.
  • Tried playing a didgeridoo.
  • Seen dinosaur footprints. (I wish!)
  • Eaten Tim Tams. (Yuuuuummmmmmmm)
  • Been to Darwin.
  • Touched a kangaroo. (They're gorgeous!)
  • Visted the Great Barrier Reef. (I SO wish....)
  • Listened to Kevin Bloody Wilson. 
  • Killed a Cane Toad.
  • Gone to a drive-in theatre. (Yes! To see Clash of The Titans and The Bounty Hunter, whoo!)
  • Have read and own books by Australian authors. (Yes, namely Elyne Mitchell, Scott Westerfield and Ebony McKenna).
  • Visited Adelaide.
  • Know the story behind “Eternity”.
  • Been camping. 
  • Visited Brisbane.
  • Been in an outback pub. (LOL)
  • Know what the term “Waltzing Matilda” actually means.
  • Gone whale watching. (And don't forget the dolphins!)
  • Listened to Slim Dusty.
  • Own five or more Australian movies or TV series. (The Silver Brumby again qualifies for this. Bet. Horse. Movie. EVER.)
  • Sang along to Down Under. (I love this song, particularly the bit where it says "He just smiled and gave me a vegemite sandwich").
  • Have stopped specifically to look at an historic marker by the side of the road. 
  • Eaten a Four N Twenty pie.
  • Surfed at Bondi. 
  • Watched the cricket on Boxing Day. 
  • Visited Hobart.
  • Eaten kangaroo.(It doesn't taste very far removed from steak, in fact!)
  • Seen a quokka.
  • Visited Canberra.
  • Visited rainforests.
  • Used a Victa lawnmower.
  • Travelled on a tram in Adelaide.
  • Used a Hills hoist.
  • Visited Kata Tjuta
  • Used native Australian plants in cooking.
  • Visited the snow. (Every year! WHOOO Thredbo and Perisher! As well as the BRUMBIES!)
  • Chosen a side in Holden VS Ford.
  • Visited the desert.
  • Been water skiing (Kneeboarding is possibly better, LOL. And tubing).
  • Read The Phantom. (I have vague memories!)
  • Visited Parliament House. 
  • Gone spotlighting or pig-shooting. (For the pig's sake, I will clarify - I went spotlighting, haha).
  • Crossed the Nullarbor. 
  • Avoided swimming in areas because of crocodiles. (And sharks. LOL).
  • Listened to AC/DC. (It's a looong way to the top if you want to rock and roll! May I also see Dean Winchester has the best music tatse (from Supernatural). He listens to AC/DC, particularly Back In Black!).
  • Called someone a dag.(And many other words. LOL.)
  • Voted in a Federal Election.
  • Have been swimming and stayed between the flags.(I stayed between the flags...for a while).
  • Had a possum in your roof. (And chimney. Photos to prove that, too!)
  • Visited the outback.
  • Travelled over corrugated roads.
  • Hit a kangaroo while driving. (Almost, but not yet!)
  • Been well outside any mobile phone coverage. (I live without it. Except on a windowsill out of my reach).
  • Seen an emu. (Wild ones, too! At the snow of course, everything happens at the snow :))
  • Have woken to the smell of bushfires.
  • Subscribed to RRR.
  • Patted a pure-bred dingo.
  • Seen the Oils live.
